Q: What if I’ve never been to a Pakistani wedding?
Not a problem! Think colors, dancing, food, and lots of celebrating. No pressure to know all the customs — just come ready to have fun.
Q: Is there a dress code?
Dress festive! Traditional South Asian attire or formal Western wear is welcome.
Q: What should I wear to each event?
Mehndi: Typically bright colors — South Asian outfits encouraged but not required.
Nikah: Modest/formal wear — long dresses or suits work great.
Reception: formal wear
If you're not sure, feel free to text us a pic — we’re happy to help!
Q: Do I have to use the registry?
Not at all! It’s there for convenience. If you'd rather give a personal gift or even just be present, we will cherish that just as much!
Q: Are there going to be cultural or religious elements I should know about?
Yes, and we’re excited to share them with you! The Nikkah includes a short Islamic ceremony with a recitation and signing of the marriage contract. No need to memorize anything — just observe and enjoy!
Q: Is there dancing?
Yes! (at the Mehndi)! Don’t worry if you don’t know the moves. Just follow the crowd or cheer from the sidelines. No judgment here. If you want to perform a choreographed dance at the mehndi (or a skit), shoot Zainab a text!
Q: Should I bring a headscarf for the religious ceremony?
Totally optional. Some women choose to cover their hair out of respect at the Nikah, but it’s not required. Do what makes you comfortable!
Q: What if I want to wear Desi clothes but don’t own any?
First of all, we love that! You can borrow or even order something online. Just message us, and we might have suggestions or hookups!
