We last met ten years ago.

Didn't talk. Didn't click. Honestly... kind of avoided each other.

Enter: Mateen's parents —observing from the sidelines. One day, they turned to Fatima’s parents and said, "sooo... about these two..."

Fatima flew to Vegas. Mateen was asked of what he thought about Fatima. Obviously his response led to this next part...

On Eid, the call came to Fatima.

Proposal. Surprise. She said yes.

We got engaged.

Moral of the story: All it takes is a decade, a trip to Vegas, and your parents doing the hard part.

Now we're getting married.
